The act of work is a blessing. As many would agree they too love to work. God delights in hard work. (Genesis 1:28, John 5:17, Philippians 2:13, Colossians 3:23-24).
The problem arises when we miss the point of our work. To glorify the living God and to help others (Acts 20:35) with a servant attitude (Mark 9:35). In stead we tend to seek out glory for ourselves which God does not endorse (1 Thessalonians 4:11-12, Jeremiah 45:5, Luke 12:5).
